System Update
Good Evening, we've continued working on the system today. Those are the brief interuptions you may or may not have seen. As a result we have the following updates:
All customers now have channel 5 (PBS) restored.
Black mtn customers have channel 21-1 (KNSN) restored. You must rescan to see this reflected.
Some customers are still reporting issues with channel 4 (KRNV). We are working diligently to find and resolve this issue. This issue seems to be limited to certain receivers. If you're using a receiver box, especially models like Tivo, please try connecting your antenna directly to your television and scanning.
We will update you with more information as we get it. Thank you.

Channel 4 & 21 Issue
We are receiving reports that channels 4 and 21 are down for some customers, but not others. We are working to address that. Please rescan your receivers once more for the changes to take effect. We will continue monitoring the situation to ensure it's resolved.
May 13, 2026 - 5:25 pm
Service Restored
Sorry about that! Our network went haywire and most channels suffered. Thanks to a quick heads up from one of our viewers, we were able to get that sorted pretty quickly.
May 13, 2026 - 4:35 pm
Channel Interuptions
Please do excuse the brief interuptions again this afternoon. We were implementing more upgrades to our system and troubleshooting a few issues as well. All channels are restored with the exception of Channel 5.
For channels 2 & 4 you may still experience briefs blips in service intermittently. We have identified the cause of this issue and the parts to rememdy it are in route. We hope to have them in hand and the time to install them as soon as possible.
You shouldn't need to rescan after todays work. If you're not receiving some channels, please do a rescan to be sure. If after that it's not resovled, please reach out so we can help look into the matter.
Thank you!

Channel Updates / Maintenance Complete
Please rescan your television sets / receivers.
Please excuse the intermittent interuptions across several channels today. We were working on some repairs, upgrades, and channel changes. All channels are restored with the exception of Channel 5. We do not have a current estimated time of restoration, but we are working towards getting it back up and running as soon as possible.
Additionally, Reno FOX has restored service to their Peavine transmitter. What this means for you depends on whether you receive our signals from Shaffer or Black mountain. See below for specifics; however, both mountain top signals will enjoy a stronger and more reliable signal for channels 11.1 through 11.3.
Shaffer Mtn. Customers:
You'll be pleased to see that Comet TV has returned! We haven't forgotten about the issue of 3.1 and 58.1 showing up on 19.2 and 19.3 respectively. Please know we are still working on finding a solution to this issue.
Black Mtn. Customers:
At this current time, you are no longer receiving the channels on channel 4. We are working on a solution to bring back at least one or two of these channels. More importantly, we are still working towards possibly acquiring more broadcast licenses from the FCC. If we do, we will be able to offer the same channel composition as Shaffer mountain with no resolution sacrifices. So hang in there!
If after rescanning your receiver you are still having issues not mentioned above, please reach out to we can try to assist you in getting back on-air, so to speak. Thank you.

Channels Restored
Good Morning, the channels are currently holding up with minimal signal scattering. We will continue to monitor them to ensure it holds. We have further replacements and improvements in the works to further curtail these occurences. Thank you for your continued patience.
May 1, 2026 - 11:54 am
Channel 2, 8, & 11 Intermittent
We've received reports of intermittent disruptions on the aforementioned channels. We are monitoring the situation and will report with more information as we have it. Thank you.

Repairs Failed - Channels Down
Well, that didn't last long. Channels 4, 11, and 21 are down. Channel 2 is highly degraded. To try and explain why this happened, we receive these channels (While virtually 4 channels, we receive them on just 2 signals) on a "receive array" antenna. Two antennas tied together for higher performance. For the past week you may have noticed these channels coming in and out repeatedly. This is because one of the two antennas failed and was causing a "short" condition.
Today we removed the failed antenna from the system and the signals quit cutting in and out. However, we receive these channels from a borderline impossible distance and now we're on the cusp of serviceable signal. During our initial testing, the level was low, but the channels were stable.
Well, it didn't last for long. We are working diligently on a solution, but no estimated time of repair is available at this time.
April 20, 2026 - 10:25 am
Repairs Completed
Good Morning, we've identified and made repairs to two issues on our network this morning. The first being the issue below that was reported last night. Channels 2, 4, & 11 should no longer repeatedly cut in and out. Additionally, we have finally resolved the common degredation of channel 8 that has been plaguing us for a minute now. You should experience a much more stable and clear signal moving forward.
These changes apply to both Shaffer and Black mtn. customers. If you experience any further issues they should be treated as new problems and reported to us so we can look into it!
Thank you for your continued patience.
April 19, 2026 - 6:52 pm
Degraded Channels: 2, 4, & 11
We've received reports of these channels coming in and out consistently. We are aware of the issue and are working on a solution. We will update you when we have more concrete information. Thank you.

Channels Restored
Looks like the power issues this morning left some of our equipment in a weird state. We've successfully restored channels 2, 5, and 8 for Shaffer customers. Thank you to those who reached out with the notifications and helpful information to get this sorted. We appreciate you.
March 28, 2026 - 10:46 pm
Scheduled Maintenance - Tuesday March 31st
We will be performing more upgrades and repairs to our system on Tuesday, March 31st. Shaffer customers should expect intermittent outages on various channels. As before, we will keep the outages as brief as possible. We will post again once the maintenance has concluded. You may need to rescan following the upgrades. Thank you.
March 23, 2026 - 3:24 pm
Maintenance Concluded
We have completed our work for today. Please rescan your television sets if you're having trouble receiving any channels. Please reach out to us if you continue to experience any issues.
Channel 5 is experiencing issues at the moment. This is an issue from the source and should return without any further action as soon as they resolve it on their end.
We've installed all the new equipment we have at this time; however, we do still have some final pieces in the shipping process and will work to implement those as soon as we can. We appreciate your continued patience.
March 20, 2026 - 4:47 pm
Planned Maintenance
Please note, March 23rd (Monday), we have planned upgrades to install. Shaffer and Black Customers should expect sporadic outages to most channels throughout the day. We will try to keep most outages brief on each channel, but some downtime is unavoidable with this phase of equipment upgrades. We look forward to it's improved performance and we thank you for your patience during this time.
You can expect to have to rescan your television sets upon completion of maintenance, but we will post with more information as we have it Monday afternoon.
March 8, 2026 - 9:33 am
Intermittent Signals - Channels 2, 4, & 11
We've received reports that the signal is coming in and out for the channels mentioned above. We've verified that our equipment is working as intended. These signals all originate from the same location and it's likely an issue local to the broadcasters at this time. We will monitor the situation and hope it resolves quickly. There's nothing we can do at this time.
March 4, 2026 - 6:20 pm
Channel 8 Skipping
We continue to experience an irritating "skipping" on channel 8. We've currently rolled over to our backup signal path. This should eliminate the skipping, so long as this path stays viable. We have ordered the replacement equipment for Channel 8. We should have a permanent answer to this persistent problem here in the near future. Thank you for your continued patience!
February 25, 2026 - 6:07 pm
Channel 4 & 11 - Intermittent
Our receiver for channels 4 & 11 is intermittently dropping the signal from Reno. From what we can tell at the moment, this seems to be an issue on Reno's end. We will continue to monitor the situation and hope it resolves soon. There is nothing we can do at this time. Thank you for your patience.
February 24, 2026 - 5:23 pm
Channel 8 Rerouted
Evening, our back up signal for channel 8 is down. We've reverted back to the main signal feed. We will monitor it's health to determine if it's still fading in and out this evening.
Update: 3:02 pm
We have moved Channel 8 over to the back-up signal. It seems to be performing much better at this time. This signal path is much more susceptible to interference, so we will continue to keep an eye on the channel to ensure it continues behaving itself.
If it does start acting up again and we've missed it, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you.
February 23, 2026 - 2:41 pm
Channel 8 Scattered
We are experiencing intermittent scattered signals on channel 8 for both Shaffer and Black mountain customers. We're monitoring the situation to determine what may be causing the issue and any possible remedies. Thank you for your continued patience and we hope to have an answer as soon as possible!
February 15, 2026 - 7:26 pm
Scattered Channels
We received reports of scattered signals, primarily channel 2. We've confirmed that our equipment is working properly. Channel 2 is broadcasted from Mt. Rose, so it has quite the journey to get to our receiver. It's likely that the weather is a large factor in the degraded performance. We will continue monitoring the situation, but unfortunately, there is nothing we can do at this time.
February 9, 2026 - 10:16 am
Channel 8 Issue
We have received reports of issues with Channel 8. Upon investigation we found issues with the receive signal from Reno. We have successfully rolled over to a backup signal source and things seem to be performing well. If you're still experiencing issues with channel 8, please reach out so we may look into it further. Thank you.
February 3, 2026 - 2:38 pm
Channel Listings
There has been a lot of confusion and a lot of channel changing to try and keep things online at the best quality we can, so we just want to layout which channels each mountain top can expect to receive at this time. We do not have an ETA on repairs in Reno, so this list is to be treated as current until we have further information.
Shaffer Mountain Customers: You are receiving all channels listed under the "Channels" page with the exception of 4.2 (Comet) and 11.3 (Charge!).
Black Mountain Customers: You are receiving all of your normal channels as listed under the "Channels" page with the exception of 11.3 (Charge!). You also currently have the added bonus of receiving channels 4.1 (ROAR), 4.3 (AntennaTV), and 4.4 (Rewind).
February 3, 2026 - 10:26 am
System Update
Please excuse the temporary system wide outage this morning. We were replacing some crucial power equipment. All circuits have been restored.
Black Mtn Customers:
We have moved the temporary FOX/NBC channel to a higher resolution standard. You are also temporarily receiving channels 4-1, 4-3, and 4-4. You will need to rescan your television set for this to take effect.
